Services provided include: Reliability reports issued to
consumers in order that they make better buying decisions. A
complaint resolution division handles consumer complaints that
cannot be handled between the consumer and the business. Every
effort should be made on the part of the consumer before we
mediate.Referrals are made to hundreds of agencies in and out of
the State andreferrals to 190 other BBB offices are also made
when the consumer has a question or complaint regarding a

only. Provides representation to individuals whose Constitutional
rights have been violated by any branch of government. Legal
inquiries must be submitted by mail as there is no attorney on

professional counseling to families needing guidance in money
management/wise use of credit. In acute cases where over
extension of indebtedness is major problem the agency will
attempt to work out a program of orderly debt payment. Were
available to provide programs to schools, social/civic groups on
budgeting, money management & the use of credit at no charge.

responsible for the enforcement of public protection laws
regarding patterns of unfair, deceptive or fradulent business
practices, including fraud, deception in advertising,
misrepresentation of facts, unfair trade practices, anti-trust,
unfair methods of competition and sales, and other trade matters.
Provides mediation services as appropriate to help resolve
consumer-business disputes. Written complaint necessary.

domestic violence for representation at the final restraining
order hearings. Victims may access the program through their

New Hampshire Legal Assistance is a state-wide non-profit Law
firm that provides civil legal services to low income New
Hampshire residents. The Fair Housing Project investigates
housing discrimination cases and represents clients whose rights
have been violated by discriminatory practices. We recruit and
train fair housing testers who assist in investigating potential
housing discrimination.

Provides legal advice and representation to eligible residents of
N.H. who cannot afford to hire an attorney for such problems as
subsidized housing matters, child support, domestic violence,
food stamps, foreclosures, welfare & unemployment
compensation, social security, and problems of the elderly,
financial problems, health services & mobile homes. They do
not handle criminal cases, private landlordtenant matters,
divorce, or those which are fee generating, in which money
damages are sought against another person.
