WHAT IS WEATHERIZATION? The Weatherization Assistance Program provides energy saving repairs and improvements to help lower your heating costs.
FIRST OF ALL, any drafts (air infiltration) are stopped by replacing broken windows, weatherstripping or repairing broken exterior doors, caulking around windows and doors, or patching small holes in walls and roots. Furnace repairs can also be made.
SECOND, energy conserving materials are installed which may include insulation in attic, walls, doors, perimeter, water heater pipes, ducts and storm windows.

SINGLE FAMILY HOMES, MOBILE HOMES and APARTMENTS can be weatherized. It does not matter if you own or rent, and there is NO cost TO YOU.
HOW DO I APPLY? It you are interested in Weatherization, you can tell the Intake person at the time of your Fuel Assistance appointment.
HOW WILL I BE CONTACTED? CAP Weatherization Program will contact you directly about when they will be coming to your home. The waiting list is long in some areas and it could take quite a while before we are able to get to your home.
