The downtown recreation complex is located in Henry Law Park,
consisting of Butterfield Gym & Indoor Pool. Ample parking is
available at the rear of facility and is accessed from Henry Law
Avenue. The Gym has a regulation basketball court; a boxing loft;
2 fully equipped exercise rooms, containing a Universal
Conditioning machine, Olympic machines, treadmill, rowing
machine, and exercycles. The Indoor Pool facility is comprised of
a regulation swimming pool; a separate diving pool; sauna &
exercise equipment on deck. There are separate locker and shower
facilities at both the Gym & Pool.
Guppey Park is located on Portland Avenue and features an Ice
Arena; an Olympic 50-meter (outdoor) pool; lighted softball
fields; volleyball field; and picnic pavilion. Parking is located
behind the Ice Arena and is accessed from Portland Avenue. Ice
Arena is equipped with locker room and shower facilities.
Programs offered to people of all ages, some of which are
aerobics, basketball, soccer, volleyball, school vacation day
camps, tennis, summer day camp, summer playground/trips,
baseball, special events, fitness activities; swimming, ice
skating, and others upon request. (Fees vary with each program.)

Visiting Nurse 4th Wednesday of every month from 10 am to 12

The Department of Recreation, Arena & Youth Services (RAYS)
is committed to providing recreational and community programming
aimed at enriching the quality of life in Rochester. We strive to
maintain meaningful connections with the community by proving
programs, services and facilities that foster a health community.
Variety of Programs Including: Summer Camps (sign-ups in the
beginning of May); 3-Free Outdoor Pools (including affordably
priced swim lessons); Community Resources & Support Program;
Juvenile Court Diversion Program, Rochester Arena (winter ice
skating and summer in-line skating) and facility rentals.
Scheduled programs include: karate, jump-n-tumble, yoga, dog

for children 5 and 6 years old, and Before & After
School Program for children 6 to 12 years old. A % Day
Kindergarten Program now available. Sponsored by the Somersworth
Housing Authority. Also offers a Summer Camp Program for all age

Programs include drug and alcohol counseling on a "drop
in" and appointment basis, employment referral/assistance,
general information and referral for youth/parents. Court
